Michael and Sarah looked at one another. An unspoken message passed between them.The monster lay unconscious on the filthy sofa. As they looked at the animal that had abused them both, and drove their beloved sister to suicide; a sordid, horrific reel of scenes played through their young minds.

Michael picked up one of the soiled cushions strewn around the sofa, Sarah moved to the monster’s head and turned it around to be facing sideways towards the T.V. which was still blaring in the background.

Michael placed the cushion over the monster’s face and pressed down, Sarah leaned hard on the pillow too. Both teenagers pressed with all their might. Their eyes locked as they put an end to the monster. His drug induced sleep turned to a labored wheezing which increased in volume as his autonomous systems tried to keep his body alive. After a long five minutes Michael nodded to Sarah and they both let up on the monster’s face.

They stepped away from the sofa and hugged one another. Their nightmare was finally over.
